Code of
Conduct
Whereas:
Northern Lights Raceway promotes safety, fair competition,
fun and sportsmanship in drag racing at our facility
And Whereas:
Our facility is entirely run through the hard work of our
team of volunteers
And Whereas:
We wish to provide a drag racing experience free from
harassment of any kind
And Whereas:
We wish to keep drag racing strong for years to come at
Northern Lights Raceway
Our Track Executive establishes the following code of
conduct that applies to everyone at the facility:
The
Code
1. All participants, track
officials and spectators shall treat each other with
respect, fairness and dignity at all times. We want
everyone to return another time and to have fun at our
facility.
2. The track officials shall consider safety first when
making decisions concerning racing at the facility. Fair
competition and sportsmanship are important but are
secondary to safety.
3. All participants shall abide by the track and tech
rules. Everyone is welcome to give input on rules at Club
meetings, but they cannot be changed on a whim at the track
on race day.
4. Questions or issues may be raised with the Dispute
Resolution Team and they will address concerns in keeping
with the spirit of safety, fair competition and
sportsmanship
Anyone who chooses not to abide by this code may be asked
to leave the Raceway and may have their racing privileges
cancelled.
Why is this Important?
It takes a lot of people to put on a race at our track.
These are all volunteers and they do the best job they can
given the resources and training they have available. If we
don’t support these people (or worse subject them to
disrespectful treatment) they won’t be very interested in
giving their time and effort to the club. When that happens
we all end up losing.
There’s nothing magical about this code of conduct. It’s
all simple stuff that should be common knowledge to
everyone. But it is so important to keeping our club and
track strong that we can’t overlook something this obvious.
If we want our facility to grow and prosper, we need to
support the people who come to help out.
